Beechwood Independent School District is a unique K-12, one contiguous building, public school district located in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky. Founded in 1860, Beechwood is one of the oldest schools in the Commonwealth. The K-12 enrollment for Beechwood is approximately 1,100 students. As a vital part of the Beechwood community, the Beechwood Band program encompasses students in grades 5-12, and oversees the musical instruction of over 250 students, over 20% of the school population.
The Beechwood Bands have a long tradition of excellence. The program boasts 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands, as well as a High School Symphonic Band, all meeting during the school day. In addition, the Beechwood Bands have numerous extra-curricular ensembles, including Percussion Ensembles, Jazz Ensembles, Winterguards, and the award-winning Marching Band. Throughout its history, the Beechwood Band program has achieved numerous honors, at both the state and national level. With a high level of student involvement and dedication, as well as exceptional school and community support, the Beechwood Band is one of the finest in Kentucky.
