About Our School and Band Program
Beechwood Independent School District is a unique K-12, one contiguous building, public school district located in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky. Founded in 1860, Beechwood is one of the oldest schools in the Commonwealth. The K-12 enrollment for Beechwood is approximately 1,300 students. As a vital part of the Beechwood community, the Beechwood Band program encompasses students in grades 5-12 and oversees the musical instruction of over 250 students.
Founded in 1936, the Beechwood Band Program has a long tradition of excellence. The program boasts 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade bands, a High School Symphonic Band, and a High School Percussion Ensemble all meeting during the school day. In addition, the Beechwood Bands have numerous extra-curricular ensembles, including two Jazz Ensembles, Athletic Pep Bands, and the award-winning Winter Guard and Marching Tigers. Throughout its history, the Beechwood Band program has achieved numerous honors, at both the state and national level. With a high level of student involvement and dedication, as well as exceptional school and community support, the Beechwood Band is one of the finest in Kentucky.
